Before you
come
 |
If
you wear contact lenses please bring along something to put them in
because it's advisable not to wear them - just like a swimming pool
|
 |
Don't
forget to bring along your towel and your personal toiletries (We
provide shampoo, conditioner, body soap and hair dryers).
|
 |
You
are more than welcome to bring your own music on tape or CD (regular or MP3)
to listen to in the tank. Soft music or spoken word works best to
allow you to relax |
|
 |
 |
On
your first visit to
floatation
please arrive 15 minutes prior to your session so we can explain to
you what floating is about and what to expect
|
On arrival
 |
On your arrival (first float
only) will ask you to complete a short
registration form and you will then be
shown around the float room and the tank demonstrated
|
 |
We also ask you to switch off your mobile
phone so as not to disturb other clients who may be floating or just
chilling out |
 |
Before
entering the tank room, if needed, please make use of the WC
|

Once in the Float
Room
 |
Close and lock the door behind you.
Please change into the slippers provided and leave your shoes on the rack
provided |
 |
 |
Please remove
clothes and jewellery. Most people prefer to float in their birthday suit,
but you can wear a swimming
costume if you want to. Either way, it's up to you
|
 |
Please shower
and wash hair prior to entering the tank |
 |
Complimentary
ear plugs are provided in the tank rooms if you wish to make to use of them. If you do,
it's best to fit them
before showering |
|
 |
Minor cuts &
grazes (or if you have shaved the same day as floating)
should be sealed with Vaseline prior to entering the tank as the
salty water will sting.
The Vaseline is pre-spread on individual paper sheets
for hygiene and will be found in a container in the tank room |
 |
Our tanks have
low level lighting on the outside so you can find your way
round the room in the dark |
|
 |
 |
We
recommend that you turn off the room lights using the pull cord adjacent to the room door
before getting into the tank. However
if you prefer, you can leave the room lights on
|
 |
Although your
head will be fully supported by the water, there is a neck pillow in the
room that you can take in the
tank should wish to use it
|

Commencing your experience
 |
Step into the
tank slowly holding onto the side of the tank. Sit down slowly, then lay down and relax. Use the
internal buttons to control the
internal lighting and hood position as you wish |
 |
Avoid getting the water in your eyes and
mouth. It's not dangerous but will sting a bit and also does not taste nice.
There is a flannel and fresh water spray provided in the tank to clean
your eyes and mouth should you need to. It's also a good idea to dry your
fingers on the flannel before touching your face whilst you are floating. The
water and flannel are located on the right side adjacent to the
emergency call button inside the tank
|
 |
If you have chosen to have music played in the tank,
it can be played for the duration of your float or for the first 10 minutes of your float to help you relax and the
last 10 minutes to start bring you back to the "real world"
 |
 |
People
have said that the floatation experience sometimes
subconsciously encourages your body to slowly move and
stretch |
|
|

 |
At the end of the session, the music will finish (dependent on what you have
chosen) and the hood will automatically
open. At this point sit up slowly and allow your body to
re-orientate for a short while. Should you wish to leave the tank before the hood is opened, press the
black internal door button on the left hand side of the tank
|
 |
When the hood is in it's
up position, stand up slowly and scrape excess water from your body using your
fingers as the water is different to tap water and does not readily run off
your body. Leave the tank carefully, again, holding onto the sides of the
tank. Remove your ear plugs if you used them and enjoy an invigorating shower to wash away
the salty water
|
 |
To enable the tank to clean itself after your
float, after you have stepped out of the tank, please could you close the hood to start the
cleaning process |
After the float
 |
After dressing, please make use of the hair
drying / makeup facilities if needed and help yourself to the complimentary
chilled water adjacent to the reception or other beverages in our chill out
room. The chill out room is located on the 1st floor and is available for
you to use as long as you wish, unfortunately it is only accessible via
stairs. |
 |
For clients who cannot use the stairs, please make yourselves
comfortable in our spacious reception area and we will be more than happy to get beverages for you. We recommend that you make use of this facility for
at least 10 minutes after floating to allow a gentle transition back to the
real world to maximise the full benefit of your float
Remember
-
The
benefits of floating are cumulative and maximum benefit is
achieved after only 3 sessions!
And if
you really enjoyed it, why not try a longer session, please contact us for
details.
